OUR ADOPTED BUDDIES
If you haven't seen our 6 solid oak carved monks in real life, you're missing out. These quirky statues were hand carved by artist Fergus Costelloe in 2006 in various poses. Each one weighs over 80kg and add their own quirky presence. These are a photo opportunity not to be missed!
Their Story
Originally commissioned in 2006 by the former owners of The Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, County Tipperary, the 6 Monks were residents in the Abbey Court Hotel bar for over a decade. Following a bar revamp, they were homeless until the Monks Well was being renovated!

Sleepy
Lying on any flat surface, having a well deserved nap

Welcoming people at the door, pint in hand

Tired after a long day, sitting back on a gin barrel resting his eyes.

With his basket filled with bread and fruit, he's the official buyer for the pantry.
