The Monks Quarters
The Monks Quarters is our air bnb / boutique hotel room offering. Our six Individually styled en-suite bedrooms, offer a mix of king and twin room options, all with luxury beds, finishes, decor, bedding and linen. The A rated energy efficient rooms were extensively renovated and re-opened in 2025 with high efficiency heating and mechanical ventilation heat recovery ensuring a cosy nights sleep.
Facilities
Each room has an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, illuminated vanity mirror, and other essentials so you can look and feel your best for any occasion.
Complimentary Tea's and Coffee
A shared coffee and tea station in the lobby with some light bites, provides a nice relaxing spot to relax and overlook the village.
Energy Efficiency
Did you know, we use the heat from the Cafe's busy kitchen, to heat all the hot water for the entire building through an innovative heat pump located off the cafe's kitchen. It extracts the hot air from the kitchen grill/oven area and expels cool air into the prep and refrigeration area while heating the hot water.
Water Efficiency
Did you know that under the courtyard we have a 7,500 litre rainwater harvesting tank, which is used to flush all the toilets and urinals in the pub, cafe and bedrooms. But don't worry, the mains water supply is used in the sinks, showers, and potable water supplies.
Heat Recovery Ventilation
Did you know all our bedrooms and bathrooms use an innovative heat recovery ventilation system which constantly circulates fresh air from the outside into the bedrooms but uses the warm moist air over a metallic heat exchanger to warm up that cold outside air on its way in....keeping all the bedrooms at a comfortable heat and humidity level year round.
Accessibility & Noise
Please take note that the bedrooms are only accessible via two flights of stairs and while we have used noise proofing throughout the renovations, there is a busy pub and cafe operating downstairs so there can be some noise transference during busy periods.
